Our Vision

A Centre of Excellence in the Education and Care of Autism

J

Our school aims:

  • To be a centre of excellence in the education and care of our children and young people with autism
  • To unlock potential so that each pupil will be able to live fulfilling and productive lives
  • To create an environment that ensures the well being of each pupil
  • To create a setting that is safe and caring for pupils to live, work and grow
  • To create meaningful learning opportunities for all of our pupils
  • To develop in each pupil a greater understanding and awareness of themselves
  • To develop in each pupil a greater understanding and awareness of their community and the world in which they live
  • To develop communication skills with confidence
  • To develop the skills to participate in a broad and balanced curriculum (including the National Curriculum)
  • To build on strengths and celebrate achievements
  • To establish a working partnership between home and school
  • To prepare our pupils for life beyond Eagle House School (Norfolk)

Our Vision

It is our vision that by the end of their time at Eagle House School (Norfolk) all pupils will have a high sense of achievement and self-esteem as a result of their experiences with us. We want pupils to leave us with a positive attitude towards learning and with the skills to participate in a variety of social situations so that they may be purposeful citizens in the world beyond Eagle House School (Norfolk).

Our Values

Our School seeks to be a community in which everyone works purposefully and happily together. We value the contribution that everyone makes to the life of our school and we place importance on the wellbeing of our pupils. We encourage our pupils to be successful learners developing their existing individual talents to the full and learning and mastering new ones, including those which help them to live successfully in the wider world beyond Eagle House School (Norfolk).

Recognition

We recognise that pupils with an autistic spectrum disorder may present with challenging or socially inappropriate behaviours. We aim to work with parents/carers to overcome such potential barriers to wider social inclusion and all adults at school have a duty to act as good role models for our pupil.

All of our staff are trained in Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIPr-UKŪ) and we are also able to draw upon the expertise and guidance of our own qualified psychologists to support our knowledgeable and skilled class teaching teams in this work.
