Our Residential Homes

Our modern, purpose built accommodation has been carefully designed for children and young people with autism who live in small family groups in separate houses according to age. The houses are grouped around a central courtyard, which provides a safe and secure place for outside play.

Each home provides a comfortable and relaxing dining room, living room, play and quiet areas suitable for the age and needs of the children. All pupils have their own bedrooms, which can be personalised with the pupil's own choices of furnishings, decor, duvet covers and personal items.

All of our living areas and bedrooms are air conditioned to create a stable and comfortable temperature all year round.

Home as Separate to School

Our residential facilities are designed away from the school so that our pupils know there is a difference between home and school. Breakfast and snacks are taken in pupils houses whilst their lunch and dinner is taken together in the main Dining Room.

Our School Kitchen staff are highly skilled at producing healthy meals using local produce where possible and we have great success in working with our children's often selective eating patterns.
Recently, Nicky Manwearing, our Catering Manager was awarded a 'Good Food Hygiene Award' by Norwich County & Breckland Council. This is only awarded to individuals who have worked above and boyond the expectations required for any catering business. As a result she is also one of two people to be nominated for a 'Nutrition Award' for her amazing healthy and nutritionally balanced meals and diets that are all prepared and cooked on site.

We are happy to cater for Gluten free/Casein Free diets and for coeliac and halal requirements.

Staff & Students in the Refectory

Our Whole School Team

Our Care Staff Teams are on duty throughout the day and night to support and care for our pupils. To ensure continuity, some residential staff work alongside our pupils in the school. Each residential student has an allocated Key Worker to ensure firm links between home and school.

Continuity & Communication

We believe in all our staff working as a whole team and ensure consistently high levels of communication between our care staff, education staff and our clinical team. This is essential for our children who need high levels of continuity and predictability. We believe in developing strong links with families and our visiting professionals ensuring all are aware of each individual pupil's achievements and progress.
